It was while I was campaigning Kaitlyn and Czaah that I began to form my
own preference in Samoyed type. Silvertips Samoyeds had imported a
bitch from Sunmist Samoyeds by the name of Katie (NZ CH Sunmist Lucky By
Destiny). A bitch (and litter) that had caught my attention, I
took the plunge and we made contact with Jude. As it happened,
Jude ended up selecting a dog I was (and still am) particularly fond of
- Sega (NZ CH Aldonza Kid N Lace - Imp AUST). My heart was set!
And
so, fantasy became reality with the arrival of my very beautiful Cody -
RBISS CH Silvertips A Wicked Fantasy. A more loyal dog I could
never have, but a more treacherous dog to show, there could never be!
Cody has consistently notched up some lovely wins for me, despite his
fondness for playing "crouching tiger, hidden dragon" in the ring,
screaming ringside if I am showing another dog, or simply acting the
clown. Cody is now semi-retired from the ring, as he has knocked
me in the head one too many times in the ring! I suspect with his
energy and liveliness that I will bring him out again when he is ten!
Mum mated Czarda
(Kalnovitch Janenka) to an import from Australia, NZ CH Sever Imperial
Shah, which tied in with a line she particularly loved, CH Sharn of
Bentara. One puppy was sent to Murmansk Samoyeds, another sent to
Bentara Samoyeds. Both have gone on to produce for their
respective kennels. Mum has run on one from this litter, we are
patiently waiting (as expected) for her to mature from an ugly ducking
into a swan!

Around
this time, we mated Kaitlyn (BISS RBISS CH Kursharn Nova Kaitlyn) to
Cody (RBISS CH Silvertips A Wicked Fantasy); this produced our "wicked
litter" We have run two puppies on from this litter, Nessie (CH
Kalnovitch Ultra Wicked Ness) who titled easily and Teddy (Kalnovitch
The Wicked Sinner) who is on his way to his title, through limited
showing.
In
2006, we welcomed the arrival of a puppy from Zaminka Samoyeds - dear
Wizard (Zaminka Magic Spell). Wizard compliments the lines that
Cody brought to us, and he is blossoming into a beautiful boy.
Wizard has been shown quite sparingly but we do anticipate having him
out and about more in 2008 (when he grows some clothes back!).
Wizard is not unlike Cody in terms of his mischievousness, however when
he turns it on - he really turns it on.
In amongst this,
we co-imported with Jude at Silvertips a lovely boy by the name of Chase
- Aust CH Snerzok Strike Chaser, from Snerzok Samoyeds. Chase came
to stay here for a little while, on his way to the UK.
Unfortunately, timing (and coat drops!) meant we were unable to finish
titling Chase, however while he was here he did sire a lovely litter at
Silvertips Samoyeds. Chase is now in the UK with Penny Roberts (Archaeus
Samoyeds) and Hazel Fitzgibbon (Smiliesam Samoyeds). He has done
very well for himself, last year winning Best in Show at the 2007
British Samoyed Club Specialty. One of Chase's sons, Silvertips
Walk N The Wild Side was exported to Australia, where he won Best in
Show at the 2007 Australian Samoyed National - a fabulous year for
Chase!
Through the
miracle of artificial insemination, this year (2008) we have been
fortunate to welcome the arrival of Valentina (Kalnovitch Cut To The
Chase), sired by Chase, out of Nessie (CH Kalnovitch Ultra Wicked Ness).
Valentina herself is a wicked little girl, so we look forward to
campaigning her soon!
